What Is Exhibition Analysis?

Exhibition analysis examines exhibition design in formalist tradition. a floor plan is reverse engineered roughly to scale, then the plan is then analyzed for things like  balance of objects, implied line of human flow,  and how things like wall color effect the exhibition experience.

All the artwork data is recorded (artists, medium, date created, etc.) then put into a spread sheet to see the types of works privileged and estimated a viewer is intended to spend at the show (run time of videos plus approx. 3 seconds per-2D media and 12 seconds per-3D media).

Then the conclusion consists of highlights and less than stellar design choices.
